I never struggled with acne as a teenager. But in my early twenties, everything changed. A series of autoimmune diagnoses, chronic stress, and systemic health shifts triggered relentless breakouts-deep, painful, and impossible to ignore. My skin became unpredictable. So did my confidence.

I tried everything. Each treatment addressed one symptom but created another. It felt like my skin was always reacting -and my mental health was caught in the crossfire. No routine was designed for skin like mine: skin in flux, skin under stress, skin that didn't fit into the clear-or-nothing narrative of conventional beauty.

Eventually, I stopped asking, How do I fix this? And started asking, Why is this happening? Why are so many of us-especially women-dealing with new or worsening acne in adulthood?

Why are conventional solutions falling short? And more importantly, what would it look like to build something smarter?

That's why I created Authentic Ego: a brand born not from trends, but from lived experience, research, and the drive to do things differently. Our mission isn't to promise perfect skin. It's to design formulas that meet you where you are and evolve with you.
